New Freedom Initiative

The New Freedom Initiative is a comprehensive plan introduced by President Bush in 2001 to promote the full participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of society by (1) increasing access to assistive and universally designed technologies, (2) expanding educational opportunities, (3) promoting home ownership, (4) integrating Americans with disabilities into the workforce, (5) expanding transportation options, and (6) promoting full access to community life.
